How do I market my travel blog?

Okay, so, if I were trying to get my travel blog noticed, Id pour my heart into it first! Id make sure my site looks slick and professional because first impressions matter, right? Then, killer content is a must – think super helpful, totally engaging stuff. Id definitely look into affiliate links to earn some cash, and of course, plaster everything all over social media! It’s all about getting those stunning photos and travel tales seen, I think.

How do I even begin to get people to actually read my travel blog? It feels like shouting into the void sometimes! Okay, so, if I were trying to make mine actually work, I’d start by making sure it looks good, you know? Not just any old thing, but something polished. Like, I spent ages fiddling with the template for mine, because let’s face it, a beautiful website is way more inviting than something that looks like it was built in 1998 – remember those awful Geocities pages? Ugh.

Then, the content. Oh boy, the content. It can’t just be okay. It needs to be amazing. I’m talking genuinely helpful stuff, like that time I almost missed my flight in Rome because I didn’t understand the Italian train system (true story!). I wrote a whole post about navigating Italian train stations, complete with pictures of the bewildering ticket machines and everything – that one got a lot of clicks! Engaging is key, right? I’m trying to be more personal, less like a brochure. More like I’m having a chat with a friend over coffee.

And yeah, affiliate links. I’m still figuring those out, to be honest. It feels a little… icky sometimes, like I’m pushing stuff I don’t actually believe in. But hey, gotta pay the bills somehow, right? Maybe I should focus on things I genuinely love using – like that amazing lightweight backpack I swear by.

Social media is a beast, though. I’m constantly battling the algorithm. It feels like I’m throwing stunning photos of the Amalfi Coast into a black hole sometimes! I’m learning to use all the hashtags, but it still feels a bit… overwhelming. Instagram especially. I wish I had the time to make reels and TikTok videos – everyone says that’s what gets the attention these days, but I barely have time to write a blog post, let alone learn a whole new video editing software.

So, yeah. Still figuring this whole thing out. Any advice is welcome! Seriously, anyone? Because I’m starting to think this whole blogging thing is way harder than it looks.
