How to Unlink a Device from Your Apple ID
Your Apple ID is a key component of your Apple ecosystem, allowing you to access various services and features. However, there may come a time when you need to unlink a specific device from your account. Whether you’re selling an old device or simply want to remove it from your list, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Step 1: Access Device Settings
Begin by opening the Settings app on your iOS device. Once in the Settings menu, tap on your name at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Navigate to Media & Purchases
Next, scroll down and tap on “Media & Purchases.” This option will open up a range of settings related to your Apple ID media consumption and purchases.
Step 3: Tap “View Account”
On the “Media & Purchases” page, tap on “View Account.” This will take you to your Apple ID account settings.
Step 4: Select “Remove This Device”
Once in your account settings, scroll down and find the section titled “Devices.” You will see a list of all the devices currently linked to your Apple ID. Locate the device you want to remove and tap on it.
Step 5: Confirm Removal
A confirmation dialogue box will appear asking if you’re sure you want to remove the device. Carefully read the message and select “Remove This Device.”
Step 6: Enter Your Password
To complete the unlinking process, you will be prompted to enter your Apple ID password. Once you enter your password and tap “OK,” the selected device will be removed from your Apple ID account.
Note: If the device you’re trying to remove is offline or not in your possession, you can unlink it using the “Find My” service on your Apple ID account.
