How do you check standing posture?
Ugh, checking my posture is such a drag, but I do it by staring myself down in a mirror. Seriously, its a full-body assessment! Are my shoulders even? Is my head tilted like a confused puppy? Are my hips level, or am I listing to one side like the Leaning Tower of Pisa? I obsess over symmetrical arms and straight ankles. Its a constant battle to maintain perfect alignment, but hey, good posture is worth fighting for!
Okay, so how do I check my posture? It’s honestly kind of a whole thing. I usually end up doing this awkward full-body scan in the mirror. Like, seriously, I’m staring at myself, head to toe, trying to figure out if everything’s where it’s supposed to be. Are my shoulders even remotely level, or is one higher than the other? Is my head straight, or am I tilting it like a confused puppy dog? (Which, let’s be honest, happens more often than I’d like to admit.) Then there are the hips – oh, the hips! Are they level? Or am I doing my best Leaning Tower of Pisa impression, all wonky and off-center? And don’t even get me started on my ankles. They should be straight, right? But sometimes… they’re not. And my arms… symmetrical? Who knows?! It’s exhausting! It feels like a constant battle against gravity to keep everything lined up perfectly. Remember that time I tried standing against a wall to “fix” my posture? I lasted maybe two minutes before I was fidgeting and slouching again. It’s a work in progress, definitely. But, I mean, good posture is important, isn’t it? Supposedly it helps with everything from back pain (which I definitely get sometimes after sitting at my computer all day) to confidence. I read somewhere that people with good posture are perceived as more confident. I don’t know how scientifically accurate that is, but it’s definitely something to think about. So, yeah, the mirror thing. It’s my go-to. A bit obsessive? Maybe. Effective? Hopefully.
