How late does the Beijing Metro run?

Beijing Metro Operational Hours and Train Frequency

Beijing's extensive subway system offers convenient transportation throughout the city. Its operational hours and train frequencies vary depending on the specific line and time of day.

Operational Hours:

The Beijing Metro generally operates from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. However, there may be slight variations in starting and closing times on certain lines. For the most up-to-date information, consult the official Beijing Metro website or mobile app.

Train Frequency:

During peak hours (typically 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM), the Metro operates at high frequencies, with trains arriving every few minutes on most lines. This ensures efficient movement of the large commuter population.

During off-peak hours (5:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), train frequencies are somewhat reduced but still provide reliable transportation. However, during the late evening hours (after 10:00 PM), train frequencies become less frequent.

Nighttime Schedule:

After 10:00 PM, the Beijing Metro transitions to a nighttime schedule with reduced train frequencies. Some lines may even close earlier than 11:00 PM. It is recommended to check the Metro's official schedule or use the mobile app to plan your late-night journeys.

Tips for Commuting:

• To avoid the peak hour rush, consider using the Metro at off-peak times if possible.
• Check the Metro schedule in advance to plan your journey efficiently.
• Allow extra time for commuting during rush hour as trains can be crowded.
• Use the Beijing Subway mobile app for real-time train information and route planning.
