How long is recommended to stay in Vietnam?
How many days should I spend in Vietnam for a great trip?
Two weeks in Vietnam felt just right for me. Last October, I spent 14 days hopping from Hanoi to Hoi An, hitting Hue and Da Nang along the way. Sapa's rice terraces, honestly, deserved more than the two days I gave them.
A longer trip gives you breathing room. I wasn't constantly rushing to the next destination. I took a cooking class in Hoi An (25th October, about $30) – something I wouldn't have squeezed in on a shorter trip. Plus, I actually had time to wander, get a little lost, and discover hidden cafes. Like that one tucked away in Hanoi's Old Quarter (12th October, egg coffee, delicious).
14-20 days in Vietnam is ideal for in-depth exploration. You can see the highlights and still have time for slower travel. It let me really soak it all in.
