How long should you spend in Tivoli? Gosh, that’s a tough one! A day trip from Rome? Honestly, I think that’s criminal! I mean, you’ll be running around like a chicken with its head cut off, snapping a few photos, and then – poof – back on the train before you’ve even had a chance to breathe in the air, you know? Remember that time I tried to do it in a day? Total disaster. I felt like I was just ticking off boxes instead of experiencing anything. It was such a rush!

Staying overnight? Totally worth it. Absolutely. Picture this: sunset painting the sky in those gorgeous Italian hues, the air warm and smelling of lemon trees, maybe even a glass of wine in hand as you wander the quieter streets… it’s magical, I tell you. You get a completely different feel for the place when you’re not constantly checking your watch. I stayed at this little family-run hotel last year – so charming! It was just outside the main area but close enough to walk. And the breakfast… oh my god, the pastries! Pure heaven. Plus, having that extra time means you can explore those hidden corners, the little shops selling handmade ceramics… stuff you’d just miss if you’re whizzing through.

They say you need at least two days to really get to know a place, right? Maybe that’s true for somewhere like Tivoli. There’s so much history, so much beauty crammed into those hills, you really only scratch the surface in a day. You’d regret it, honestly. You would.
