How much is a 10 minute drive walking?

Okay, so, how far is a 10-minute drive if you walk it? It’s definitely not a quick stroll, that’s for sure! Think about it – if you’re driving at a decent speed, say, 30mph, you’re covering five miles in those ten minutes. Five miles! Now, imagine walking that. Whew!

I remember once trying to walk what I thought was a short drive. Turned out to be like, three miles? Took me forever! I was so annoyed. Anyway, back to this 10-minute drive thing. A good rule of thumb – and I’ve heard this from various places, nothing too scientific, mind you – is that a mile walk takes about 20 minutes. So, five miles? That’s gotta be close to an hour and a half, right? Yeah, something like a 90-minute walk. Makes sense, doesn’t it? It’s a huge difference.
