Getting to Hoi An from Da Nang airport is simple. Grab or taxi. I prefer Grab – trackable, safer feeling, even if slightly more expensive. Bus is an alternative. Thirty minutes tops, unless there is a crazy traffic jam. That's happened to me once. Never again. I’ll stick to Grab from now on.

Things I learned:

• Avoid peak season: Flights and accommodation are way more expensive.
• Negotiate taxi fares upfront: Don’t be shy. Especially from the airport.
• Download the Grab app: Essential in Vietnam. Seriously, use Grab.
