Definitely combine it with another island. Phi Phi is a classic, but Koh Lanta is much more relaxed if that's what you prefer. I think Koh Lanta is better, actually. Way less touristy. It's a quick hop by boat. You won't regret it!

• Pack light. Seriously, you'll be sweating. Bring lots of sunscreen!
• Try the seafood. So fresh! And cheap. Don't be shy.

• Koh Lanta - chilled, relaxed vibe, more authentic Thai feel.
• Krabi - mainland, closer to Ao Nang, more variety.

Yeah, a week is ideal, but you could easily spend longer if you like. But a week is plenty, you know? Enough to get a good feel of the place. Don't over do it!

• Ao Nang: Loud. Proud. And positively packed with Pad Thai possibilities. If culinary indecision gives you existential dread, prepare for enlightenment. Or at least indigestion.

Frankly, both sound appealing. It really depends if you like other humans, I suppose. Me? I would prefer to have a margarita in Ao Nang. Don't judge.

Is Railay Beach worth visiting?
