GitHub Copilot Pro isnt free, but students can get a free trial. Visit the Copilot website (https://copilot.github.com/?WT.mc_id=academic-88217-leestott), select Start Free Trial, and follow the instructions. The trial will be identified as a student offering. Note that this is a trial; a paid subscription is required after the trial period ends.

So, you’re trying to snag GitHub Copilot Pro without spending a dime? I get it, who doesn’t love free stuff? Truth is, it’s not actually free, unless you’re a student. Then you can get a pretty sweet free trial. I mean, think about it, who ISN’T a student these days, taking some kind of online course? ????

Head over to the Copilot website (here’s a link that might help: <a href=https://copilot.github.com/?WT.mc_id=academic-88217-leestott>https://copilot.github.com/?WT.mc_id=academic-88217-leestott…because who wants to go hunting for it, right?). Click on “Start Free Trial” and follow the little breadcrumb trail of instructions. They make it pretty straightforward, even I managed it! The trial will show up as a student offer – pretty cool, huh?

Just a heads-up, though. This is a trial. It’s not forever. (Sadly.) Like that time I got a free trial of that fancy streaming service… binged all of “The Crown”, and then bam – trial over. So, after the Copilot fun ends, you’ll have to pony up for a subscription if you want to keep using it. Just so you know. But hey, that free trial period is definitely worth grabbing! Gives you a chance to play around with it and see if it’s worth the investment, you know? Like test-driving a car before you buy it. Makes sense, right?
