- Auto-debit
- Electronic bill pay
- Debit card
- NEFT/RTGS/IMPS
- National Automated Clearing House
Ugh, paying credit card bills. Am I right? It’s never my favorite chore, but you gotta do it, right? So, how do you actually pay that pesky thing off? Let me tell you what I do, and hopefully it’ll help you out too.
I mostly use online banking – it’s so much easier than writing checks, which I haven’t done in years, honestly. Remember those? Feels like a lifetime ago! Anyway, my bank’s app lets me schedule payments, which is a lifesaver. Total game changer. I set up autopay for my smallest card, you know, the one that only has, like, my Netflix subscription on it? Genius, I know. Less to think about!
There are a bunch of other ways though. You can do it through your bank’s website, obviously. I’ve even heard of people using electronic bill pay – never tried it myself, seems a bit extra, but hey, to each their own. Some people even use debit cards directly, which I guess is fine. Then there’s all these fancy acronyms… NEFT, RTGS, IMPS…honestly, I have no clue what half of those are, but I’m sure they work! Maybe someone else can explain those better than I can. I just stick to what’s easy for me. Oh, and apparently there’s this thing called a National Automated Clearing House – sounds super official, doesn’t it? Again, I’m way too lazy for all that.
The main thing, I think, is just finding a method that works for you and sticking with it. Otherwise, you’ll end up like me, once, completely forgetting to pay a bill and getting a frantic phone call from the bank. Not fun. Trust me. So pick a method, set up reminders (seriously!), and get it done. You got this!
