How to tell if someone is a real person online?

Ever get that creepy feeling online, like... is this person even real? I know I have! It's so unsettling. You're chatting away, maybe even starting to connect with someone, and then BAM, that little voice in your head whispers, "Catfish alert!" So, how do you know?

One thing I always do – reverse image search. Seriously, it's a lifesaver. Just grab their profile pic, pop it into Google Images or TinEye, and see what comes up. I remember this one time, I was talking to this supposedly gorgeous "model" – yeah, right. Reverse image search showed her picture on a stock photo site! Busted! Talk about embarrassing... for them, of course. ????

Another trick? Copy and paste some of their messages, especially those super romantic, unique-sounding lines. You know the ones, like they’re straight out of a movie. If those same lines pop up on other websites or dating profiles? Huge red flag. I mean, come on, who has that much originality all the time? Nobody, that's who. Probably just copying and pasting, trying to reel people in. Ugh.

It's sad, you know? You have to be so careful these days. It makes you wonder who you can really trust online. But hey, at least we have tools to help us weed out the fakes, right? Stay safe out there!
