How to verify WhatsApp without a number?
Ugh, I know, right?! It's so annoying that WhatsApp is so stuck on phone numbers. You'd think in this day and age there'd be a better way, wouldn't you? Like, what if you lose your phone or something? I remember that time I dropped my phone in a lake – total disaster. Luckily I had everything backed up, but still... it makes you think.
Anyway, while you can't completely get around using a number to set up WhatsApp initially (so frustrating!), you can at least add an email address. Go to Settings, then Account, then Email Address. It's, like, a tiny little bit of extra security, I guess? They'll send a verification code there if you need it. I mean, it's not a perfect solution. Not even close. It feels more like a band-aid on a broken leg, you know? I really wish they’d offer a real, proper numberless option. Maybe someday… sigh.
