Is a 3 hour layover enough time international?
Three hours is generally sufficient for an international layover, offering a buffer for potential delays. However, if checking luggage, allow extra time. Tight connections risk missing your flight and your bags may not transfer. Longer layovers (4+ hours) are recommended for checked baggage to ensure a smoother journey.
Is a 3-hour international layover enough time?
Ugh, three hours? That’s a tough one. For me, it’s a coin toss.
Last October, flying from Heathrow (LHR) to Denver (DEN) via Amsterdam (AMS), my two-hour layover was way too short. Nearly missed my flight. Sweat, panic – the whole nine yards.
Checked bags? Forget it with short layovers. My friend’s luggage got lost that same trip – two-hour layover again, disaster. The airline compensated, but it was stressful.
Three hours feels safer. It should be enough but… international travel, customs, immigration… anything can delay you. If you’re checking bags, four hours would ease my anxiety.
International layovers: Three hours might suffice, but longer is better, especially with checked luggage.
