Is an airport shuttle cheaper than a taxi?
Is an airport shuttle cheaper than a taxi? Seriously, is that even a question? Okay, so, from my experience – and I've flown enough times to know – airport shuttles are way cheaper than taxis. I mean, remember that time I took a taxi from Heathrow? Sixty pounds! Sixty! I could have bought a decent bottle of wine with that. A really decent bottle. Who wants to blow half their holiday budget before they've even unpacked? Not me!
Shuttles, on the other hand, are usually a fixed price. Which is, like, a total comfort thing, you know? You know exactly what you're paying upfront. No nasty surprises. Taxis… it's always a gamble. The meter's ticking, you're stuck in traffic, and your anxiety's spiking faster than the fare. I'm pretty sure I once paid double what I should have because the driver took the "scenic route". Ugh.
For me, saving money on the transfer means more money for, like, actual fun stuff. That amazing seafood paella I had in Barcelona? That wouldn't have happened if I'd shelled out for a taxi every time. So yeah, airport shuttles – they're my best friend. Unless, of course, you're in a huge rush and need to get somewhere ASAP. Then, maybe a taxi's your only option. But for me? Shuttle all the way. Every time.
