Is one hour before a flight enough time to check in and board?
Okay, here's my take:
One hour before a domestic flight? Whew, talk about cutting it close! I mean, technically, yeah, usually it's enough. But, like, personally? It stresses me OUT.
For international flights, give yourself two hours. Seriously. More if you're checking luggage or flying outta, say, JFK. Total MADNESS there.
And here's the gist: Domestic – 1 hour might work. International – 2 hours is safer. Luggage? Add more time. Peak travel season? Double it lol.
Remember that one time, 3 November '22, at LAX? Security line was like a mile long. I almost missed my flight to Vegas (thankfully, only cost me 75 USD).
Always, always check your airline's website. They'll tell ya exactly what they recommend. Saves ya from ending up a stressed-out mess like me, haha.
Can I reach the airport 1 hour before my flight?
Ugh, last year, July 2022, flying out of JFK. My flight to Rome was at 11 am. I swear, I was there by 9 am sharp. Total overkill, right? But my anxiety, man, it’s a beast. I’d rather be early than miss that flight. Seriously, the thought of missing it kept me up the night before.
The lines at security were insane. It felt like forever. I was sweating. My carry-on was so heavy, my shoulder ached. I almost dropped my phone. I hated that airport. The whole experience just sucked.
Anyway, I made it to the gate with tons of time. Way too much time. I ended up watching some dude play guitar, the sound was pretty terrible tbh. But I was so relieved to be there early. So, an hour? No way. Two hours minimum, especially JFK.
Things I learned that day:
- Two hours before a flight is absolutely necessary for JFK, at least.
- Pack light. Seriously. My shoulder hurt for days.
- My anxiety is a real problem and needs addressing.
