Is Hong Kong costly for tourists?

Oh my gosh, Hong Kong! Is it expensive? Let me tell you, it depends entirely on you, really. I mean, my friend Sarah went last year and spent a fortune – she was staying in one of those fancy hotels overlooking Victoria Harbour, you know, the ones with the ridiculously expensive mini-bars? She ate at Michelin-starred restaurants every night, practically. That trip cost her a small fortune, I swear! Probably way more than that ₹80,000 figure.

But then, my cousin went a few months later, and he totally blew my mind. He stayed in a hostel – a really nice hostel, mind you, not some dodgy place – ate mostly street food (which was amazing, by the way, he raved about the egg waffles!), and mostly took the MTR. He was there for a week too and spent… well, way less than half of Sarah's budget. Probably closer to that ₹50,000 mark, maybe even a bit less.

So, ₹50,000 to ₹80,000 for a week from India? That's a pretty broad range, right? It just goes to show how much your spending habits can affect the final cost. Flights are a big chunk, obviously. And hotels, well, they can range from budget-friendly to... well, you get the picture.

Honestly, I'd say it's relatively expensive compared to, say, Southeast Asia. But then, you're getting that amazing blend of East and West culture, those incredible views, the delicious food… It's hard to put a price on the experience, isn't it? You just gotta budget carefully, plan ahead, maybe skip a few of those luxury things, and you can have a fantastic time in Hong Kong without breaking the bank. Just remember Sarah and my cousin - they show you the whole spectrum!
