Early? Nah. Too much planning. Feels restrictive. I like spontaneity.

Late is better. Less hassle, usually. Unless the flight's packed. Then, screw you, airline. You're making me sweat.

My last flight, I checked in 2 hours before. Stressful. Why? I had to choose a seat. Seriously, who cares? Just give me a seat!

• Possible Drawback #3: You’re Stuck. You’re officially in travel limbo. So make sure the airport has something to keep you busy. Or that the lounge doesn’t charge an arm and a leg.

So yeah, while early check-in can be slick, think twice! You might find yourself stuck with a ticket you can't use. A little patience might save you a big headache. And maybe leave that toothbrush in your carry-on, okay? And keep an eye on that baggage. That happened to my friend Jen. She lost all her stuff!
