Is it okay to flush the toilet while sitting on it? I mean, I’ve always wondered about that, haven’t you? Like, is something going to magically suck me down the drain? Of course not! It’s totally fine, and honestly, who hasn’t done it?

Yes, you’re perfectly safe flushing while seated. The whole thing works by whooshing water around, creating a mini-whirlpool (or at least that’s how I picture it!) to, you know, get rid of everything. It’s completely normal. I do it. My grandma does it. Everyone does it! Remember that time we were at that weird little B&B in Vermont, and the toilet flushed so loudly I nearly jumped out of my skin? Well, I was definitely sitting down for that one! It’s just a normal, everyday thing. No need to overthink it. So flush away! (While sitting, standing, whatever… you do you!)
