Is it worth going to Vietnam for a week?
Yes! A week in Vietnam offers a fantastic introduction. Focus on a region: Northern highlights (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay), central beaches (Hoi An, Da Nang), or southern bustle (Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta). Each area provides unique cultural immersion and breathtaking scenery, making a short trip worthwhile. Plan efficiently to maximize your time.
Is a week in Vietnam worth it? Travel Guide
Totally worth it, a week in Vietnam? Absolutely! I spent seven incredible days there last October, flying into Hanoi. The food alone, pho for breakfast, banh mi for lunch, made it worthwhile.
Seriously, the sheer variety blew me away. Hanoi’s Old Quarter was a sensory overload – amazing. Motorbike chaos, street food stalls everywhere… it was intense but thrilling.
Next, I took a sleeper train south, to Hoi An. That journey, around 16 hours, was an adventure in itself. I think it cost me about $40. Hoi An was beautiful, relaxed. Tailored clothes, ancient town, amazing beaches nearby.
I wish I’d had more time. A week barely scratches the surface. Next time? Two weeks, easily. The country is stunning. Seriously consider it.
