Is there a way to track international packages?

Tracking international packages? Oh man, that’s always a nail-biter, isn’t it? I remember once sending my grandma a ridiculously oversized knitted scarf – I mean, it was practically a small blanket – to Italy. It was a Priority Mail Express International thing, supposedly. And you know what? The tracking was…well, let’s just say it was less than thrilling. It updated maybe twice in the whole journey. I swear I aged ten years waiting for confirmation it actually arrived!

So, yes, you can track them. USPS says so, anyway. They boast about this “Track & Confirm” tool for their Global Express Guaranteed and Priority Mail Express International services. Sounds fancy, right? It should give you detailed updates. Should. My grandma’s blanket experience wasn’t exactly detailed, more like a cliffhanger novel with a happy ending (she loved the scarf, thankfully!).

But the thing is, international shipping is a whole different beast. It goes through so many hands – customs, different postal services… sometimes the tracking just…stops. I’ve heard stories, oh man, so many stories. One friend sent a package to Australia and it vanished into thin air for three weeks before popping back up inexplicably in some random postal sorting facility in Nebraska. Nebraska?! What?

Anyway, long story short: Yes, tracking exists, but don’t expect a flawless, minute-by-minute account. It’s often more of a general idea. Fingers crossed, maybe your package’s journey will be smoother than my grandma’s blanket!
