Should you always tip your driver?

Is tipping your driver always necessary?

Ugh, tipping delivery drivers… it's a whole mess, right? I mean, I remember once, last July in San Diego, my pizza was an hour late, cold, and the box was crushed. Zero tip.

My personal rule? Good service, a couple of bucks extra. Seriously though, five bucks feels okay for decent service. Anything less feels stingy, more feels excessive.

I saw this thread on Reddit – people debating this endlessly. Some were like, "Always tip!" Others, "Only if they go above and beyond." So confusing!

Honestly, it depends. If the driver battles traffic, delivers quickly, and is super nice... a tip's a must. But if they're rude or late? Nope.

Remember that time, December 2022? My groceries arrived, a full twenty minutes early, perfectly organized. I slipped the driver a tenner, easily.
