What are the steps to book a train ticket?

Okay, so you want to know how to book a train ticket? Ugh, tell me about it! It can be such a drag sometimes, right? But hey, here’s what I usually do when I’m booking on IRCTC – which, let’s be honest, is where most of us end up.

First things first, and this is always the biggest hurdle for me, I gotta, like, really dig deep and try to remember my login details. Why can’t I ever remember my password? Anyone else feel that pain?

Okay, once I’m finally in, it’s time to punch in all the deets. You know the drill: Where I’m going, the date I’m planning to travel, and maybe, just maybe, if I’m feeling particularly flush, I’ll treat myself and splurge on a higher class. First AC, anyone? (Okay, probably not, haha!)

And then, oh, then the real fun begins! It’s time to dive headfirst into the “Find Trains” tab. I start scrolling, my fingers crossed, hoping that something reasonably priced and actually convenient pops up. Seriously, it’s always a total gamble, isn’t it? Will I find a train that leaves at a decent time? Will it be booked solid? Will it cost me an arm and a leg? It’s all part of the thrilling IRCTC experience, I guess!
