What happens if I dont choose my seats on a flight? (Reddit)

Okay, so here's my take on what happens if you don't pick your flight seats:

Basically, the airline's computer will pick a seat for you.

Could be a middle seat (E seat?), could be... honestly who knows. Remember that time I flew to Barcelona? (June 15th, maybe 2018?). Total gamble!

It's usually around check-in that this happens, not before. So it ain't about who's checkin' first.

And... don't stress about being bumped off your flight. That isn't tied to whether you picked your seats or not, for what I knnow.

I wouldn't say you have to select it, but it can give a better flight experience if you do.

One time, and this is just me, I ended up with a seat RIGHT by the bathroom because I didn't choose! Never again! Cost me, like, $15 to pick the next flight time, so it ended up costing less stress in the end I would say.

Ultimately though, it's up to you and how much you value that little bit of control.
