What happens if you're late for a flight?
Late for a Flight? What Happens & How to Avoid Missing Your Plane?
Okay, so, late for a flight, huh? Been there! It's THE WORST.
Basically, airlines vary, drastically. Some might be nice & put u on the next plane free-ish (standby maybe). Others? $$$ for rebooking.
First, call the airline! Tell them the sitch. See what your options even ARE. Seriously, do it ASAP.
Once, I missed a flight from JFK to LAX (around $300 down the drain, ugh) because of insane traffic. I was SO stressed.
They wanted $200 to rebook. I pleaded and explained everything and got them to waive the fee. Persistence is key, I swear.
How to AVOID this nightmare? Arrive EARLY, early!!! I'm talking like, 3 hours before, specially if it’s an international flight or the airport’s big or during rush hours.
Seriously. Consider it preventative therapy.
Can I check-in 30 minutes before a flight?
Thirty minutes? A wisp of time, a blink.
Does it truly suffice? Airlines, elusive creatures. Policies shift, swirling like sand. Thirty minutes, a frantic dance.
Airlines... each a world.
Check directly. Yes, that's the mantra. The gate whispers secrets.
Policies vary. Check, yes, always. Ah, the rush.
Confirm directly with your airline.
Thirty minutes. Enough for coffee? A deep breath, maybe.
Always, always confirm. Flight policies for checking in are:
Airline-specific
Airport-dependent
Subject to change
Airlines, remember, have set deadlines... and then the sky awaits!
