What is a non-refundable?

Nonrefundable (adj.): It just means you cannot get a refund. No take-backs! Once you buy it, you're stuck with it. You know, like that questionable neon green sweater I bought online last year? Yeah, totally non-refundable. Still regretting that one...

For example, you often see this with airline tickets. Non-refundable airline tickets are cheaper, which is tempting, right? But then life happens. What if you get sick? What if your plans change? Too bad! That money's gone. I learned that the hard way when my best friend's wedding got moved and I couldn't get my money back for the flight. Ugh, talk about frustrating!
