It was supposed to be this glorious, relaxing getaway. Turns out, September is smack-dab in hurricane season. Who knew, right? I thought I was getting a deal.

I paid like almost $400. That was cheap but so not worth it.

The boat was half-empty. Felt like a ghost ship, honestly. The staff were all kinda...bored? Maybe just tired.

Also...is it always 3 hours from Hai Phong? Depends on traffic, I suppose. And the driver! Remember that taxi ride in 2023? Never again!

Want to get to Hoi An? Fly into Da Nang. Duh.

• From Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City: DAD is your jam.
• Hoi An is close by: Like, a stone's throw... if you're throwing stones really far.
• Get there: Taxi or bus, easy peasy, about 30 minutes.
• Transfers: Efficient? Yeah, if everything goes according to plan. Which it usually...doesn't?

Basically, Da Nang airport is your gateway to tailor-made suits and delicious noodles, all in one convenient location! Who knew?
