Easiest Way to Travel Vietnam?

Okay, so the “easiest” way to travel Vietnam? Hmm, lemme think…

Vietnam Airlines? Yeah, makes sense. It’s probs the fastest, right? Flyin’ avoids all the crazy traffic. Plus, comfy seats. I paid around 1,200,000 VND (like 50 bucks?) for a flight Hanoi to Da Nang. Super convinient.

Trains… Oh boy. A long ride. Good views, I guess. It ambles along the coast.

Sleeper buses? They exist! I took one from Hoi An to Nha Trang, ugh, never again. Too bumpy. Cramped.

Motorbikes tho… ah, freedom! Best way EVER to see the real Vietnam. Like, the real Vietnam. But you gotta be brave. Hanoi traffic is WILD.

Bicycles? Sounds charming, but honestly, the heat would kill me. Maybe around Hoi An? Somewhere flat? Imagine biking around the rice paddies. Peaceful.

How to cross streets in Vietnam?

Vietnam street crossing: Survival guide.

  • Ignore lights. Often useless.
  • Steady pace. No sudden moves. Ever.
  • Eye contact. Crucial. Drivers respond.
  • Big vehicles first. Buses, trucks, then smaller.
  • Visibility. Bright clothes. Avoid dark corners.

My last trip, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City: almost got flattened by a motorbike. Learned quick.

Key: Confidence. Assertiveness. Don’t be a tourist.

Additional points (for improved ranking):

  • Location matters. Hanoi differs from Ho Chi Minh City. Smaller towns, yet simpler.
  • Motorbike swarms. Expect chaos. Accept it. Embrace the madness.
  • Scooters are everywhere. A constant threat. Always vigilant.
  • Sidewalks? Optional. Often occupied by vendors. Use at your own risk.
  • Avoid rush hour. Self-explanatory. Seriously, avoid it. Brutal.

How to get across the street?

Crosswalks. Yeah. Middle of the night, thinking about crosswalks. They’re supposed to be safe.

Remember that time…almost got hit…2023…right by Elm Street. Sun was low. Driver didn’t see me. Scary.

Should have waited. Just a few more seconds. Could have been…

  • Look both ways. Twice. Three times even.
  • Crosswalks. They’re there for a reason. Elm Street…that one’s marked well, at least.
  • Make eye contact. Even if you’re at a crosswalk. Make sure they see you.
  • Sometimes…just waiting. Extra few seconds. Worth it. Think about…what if.

Remember Sarah…she always said…look left, then right, then left again. Wish she was here. She’d know…she’d know what to say.

My street…Maple…no crosswalk. Have to be extra careful there. Always is…a risk. Cars fly down that road. Late at night…even worse.

Gotta be more careful. For Sarah. For me.
