What is the Grab service fee?
The Grab service fee is the difference between what a passenger pays for a ride and what the driver actually earns from that same trip. It covers Grab's operational costs, platform maintenance, and various service improvements.
How much is the Grab service fee?
Okay, so Grab’s “service fee” thing? Honestly, it’s what Grab takes out of what you pay. I think. It’s kinda confusing sometimes, even for me.
Basically, the difference between what the driver makes on your trip and the total you cough up… yeah, that’s the service fee. Got it? Maybe not.
I think that’s how they fund their platform. Not entirely sure though.
I took a Grab from KL Sentral to my hotel on 12 Dec and paid RM25. The driver mentioned he got around RM20. So, RM5 was the fee? Or something like that. Always makes my head spin. Seriously.
Sometimes I wish they just made it totally clear where my money goes!
How much is Grab in Vietnam?
Ugh, Grab in Vietnam, right? So confusing. I used it last week, cost a fortune. 11,000 dong per kilometer for a GrabCar, and 300 dong per minute. That’s crazy! Makes my wallet cry. Seriously, that’s expensive for a basic ride.
GrabCar Plus in Ho Chi Minh City? Minimum fare’s 30,000 dong for the first two kilometers. Remember that, it’s a total rip-off for short trips. Should’ve walked! Next time I’m sticking to xe ôm, even if it’s a bit sketchy.
They should have clearer pricing. It’s a nightmare trying to figure this out.
- GrabCar (4 seats): 11,000 VND/km + 300 VND/min
- GrabCar Plus (HCM): 30,000 VND minimum (first 2km)
I hate these fluctuating prices. Need to budget better. Maybe I should just buy a motorbike? Less hassle, that’s for sure. Though I’d need an international driving permit which is total headache, and insurance costs a fortune… Hmm. Decisions, decisions.
Anyway, back to Grab. The app itself is decent enough. Better than those dodgy taxi drivers. But the price… I’m sticking to using it only if absolutely necessary. Plus, I need to double-check their cancellation policy. What if I get a flat tire? Oh god, that would be horrible.
What is the service charge for GrabFood?
The service fee… yeah. It’s there, alright.
It stings a little more each time I see it. It’s never just the food cost, is it?
Service fees on GrabFood are real. Different tiers now? Man, things change fast.
I always pick the slowest option. Always.
Delivery time matters less than saving a few bucks.
Maybe that’s just me. Who even cares about that burger anyway?
Some additional points about GrabFood… because why not?
- Restaurant pricing matters. Check against the actual menu, always. A little pricier on GrabFood.
- Fast delivery costs extra. This is not a joke. I swear, it is like paying for faster regret.
- I wonder how much the delivery guys make sometimes.
- It is convenient, I will give them that.
- I miss going out.
- Merchant fees are there too. They are a real deal, it is worth checking into this.
- Reddit has opinions, of course.
- Those opinions are just feelings like mine, anyway.
- Sometimes, I wish I cooked more.
- I really should cook more.
- Damn that burger.
- I really need to go to sleep.
