The Golden Rule, central to numerous faiths, is succinctly stated as: "Treat others as you wish others to treat you." This principle, highlighted in the Declaration Toward a Global Ethic (1993), emphasizes reciprocity and empathy as a universal moral compass.

What is the Golden Rule? Official Definition?

Okay, so the Golden Rule...it's that whole "treat others how you'd want to be treated" thing, right?

The Parliament of the World's Religions kinda officially nailed it down in 1993 as, "We must treat others as we wish others to treat us."

Sounds easy, doesn't it?

Thing is, putting it into practice? Super hard, actually. Like, remember back in, uhm, let's say June 2018 (I think?), at that craft fair in Asheville, NC? I was so annoyed with that lady hogging all the good display space for her beaded cats.

I definitely didn't treat her the way I'd want to be treated. More like a polite-ish scowl. Maybe she was just trying to make a living, ya know?

It's a concept simple. Live it is something completely diiferent.
