What should I do if I miss my bus?
Ugh, missing the bus is THE WORST. Seriously, who hasn't been there? Heart sinking, that panicky feeling... What do you DO?
First, don't freak out (easier said than done, I know!). Take a deep breath. Check the bus schedule – maybe the next one's just around the corner. Sometimes, you get lucky, right? Like that time I missed the 7:15 and the 7:22 showed up literally two minutes later. Saved!
If the next bus is ages away... ugh. Call your parents or whoever's supposed to pick you up. Let them know what happened. Maybe they can swing by and grab you. Worth a shot! I remember once my dad had to drive all the way back from work 'cause I missed the bus... I felt so bad.
If you can't reach anyone, head to the school office or find a teacher. They’ve seen it all before, trust me. They can probably help you figure something out. Like, what if there's another bus route that goes near your house? Or maybe they can call someone for you. When I was in middle school, Mrs. Davis, she was the sweetest, helped me out a bunch of times. She even let me use the school phone before cell phones were a thing. Remember those days?
Anyway, missing the bus is a bummer, but it’s not the end of the world. You’ll figure it out!
