What to do if a ticket is not confirmed after chart preparation?
Ugh, thats the worst feeling! My heart sinks when my waitlisted ticket doesnt get confirmed after chart preparation. Its a lost cause then, right? Well, not entirely. Id desperately try pleading with the TTE – maybe, just maybe, someone cancelled, leaving a miracle seat. Its a long shot, but worth the try before resigning myself to missing my trip. Fingers crossed!
Ugh, that is the worst feeling, isn’t it? That sinking feeling in your stomach when you see that waitlisted ticket still staring back at you after chart preparation. Like, seriously, why me?! It feels like a lost cause, doesn’t it? I remember one time, I was traveling to see my sister for her graduation – HUGE deal – and my ticket was waitlisted. I checked right after chart prep, and bam, still WL. I almost cried right there in the station.
So, what can you do? Well, it’s not entirely hopeless. I’ve heard of people getting lucky by talking to the TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) on the train. It’s a long shot, I know. But sometimes, miraculously, someone cancels last minute, or maybe there’s a berth that hasn’t been allocated properly. It’s worth a try, right? What have you got to lose? I remember once, I was in a similar situation, and I begged the TTE. I explained my situation, my sister’s graduation, the whole nine yards. And guess what? He actually found me a seat! It wasn’t the most comfortable, squeezed in with the luggage and all, but hey, I got there!
If the TTE can’t help, then… well, then it’s probably time to accept defeat. Start thinking about alternative plans, maybe a bus or another train – anything to salvage the trip. It’s disappointing, no doubt, but better than just giving up completely. It’s like that saying, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” … even though at that moment, you kinda feel like there isn’t. But you gotta try, you know? Keep those fingers crossed! And maybe, just maybe, you’ll get lucky too.
