What to do if something falls on train tracks?

Okay, so, what to DO if something falls on the train tracks? Ugh, just thinking about it makes my palms sweat!

Okay, so first things first, if I ever dropped something down there – phone, bag, whatever – you bet I'm not even thinking about grabbing it. Like, are you kidding me? Forget about it! My immediate reaction would be pure, unadulterated PANIC.

I'd be scrambling backwards so fast, probably tripping over my own feet in the process, haha. You know, that kind of awkward, desperate scramble? The most important thing is to get as far away from the tracks as possible. Seriously. Getting back onto the platform would be my ONLY goal. I'd be hoping someone would lend a hand, pull me up – anything to get me to safety.

I remember once I saw a woman drop her scarf and she just froze and was looking at the scarf like she was trying to decide if she could grab it. I was like, “NOOOOOOO!” You know? Because the thought of a train coming, even just the sound of one, is just...terrifying. So yeah, safety first, always! That phone? It can be replaced. Me? Not so much.
