Best time to visit Vietnam: When is the ideal travel season?
Ugh, Vietnam trip planning… so confusing! November to April's generally best, right? That's what all the brochures said.
Hanoi, specifically, I went in March last year, lovely and sunny, perfect for exploring the Old Quarter. Spent about $50 a day easy.
But further north, like Sapa, December's freezing. Seriously. Layers are your friend. I nearly froze my butt off.
Central and southern Vietnam? Different story. I remember Hue in July was crazy humid; sweat dripping constantly, but the beaches were amazing.
So, best time truly depends where you're going. North – avoid the rainy season (May-October). South - think about heat and humidity. Plan accordingly!
- Is there a modern part of Hanoi?
- What happens if I use my debit card in another country?
- Which country gives the fastest work visa?
- What is the TGV train short for?
- Is a day trip to Ninh Binh enough?
- Can I eat my own food on a train?
- Does Canadian Rail have sleeper cars?
- Where is the best place to sit on a bus for motion sickness?
- How safe is Vietnam at night?
- Why is the air so bad in Hanoi?
