2023… everything changed. Still. Da Nang. Hoi An. Better.

Is Ho Chi Minh District 1 safe?

District 1? Fine, usually. But those back alleys? Nope. Total creep factor. I’d avoid them like the plague.

• Grab apps. Taxi apps are your friend. Especially after 10 pm. I use Grab.

My friend got her purse snatched last year near Ben Thanh Market. Nighttime. Crazy. She was totally spaced out. Learn from her mistake.

It’s not like it’s wildly dangerous, but petty theft is a real thing. And honestly, getting mugged in a foreign country? Not my idea of a good time.

I’m not saying stay cooped up in your hotel, but use common sense. Don’t flash expensive jewelry. Keep your phone hidden.
