Best budget travel country? Affordable destinations for cheap trips?

Ugh, best budget travel country? That's tough. So many places!

For me, it was Thailand, 2018. Street food was amazing, a few bucks a meal. Seriously cheap.

Backpacking through Southeast Asia? Cambodia was next. Angkor Wat? Stunning, relatively inexpensive. Maybe $20 entry.

Europe? Albania surprised me. I went in July, stunning beaches, ridiculously cheap. A night in a guesthouse? Five dollars. Crazy.

China's a beast, though. You could spend a fortune or next to nothing, totally depends on how you travel. I definitely felt the culture shock. Felt like a different planet.

Turkey was also great value, felt luxurious, but still affordable. Istanbul in 2022, markets were awesome. Could haggle down prices, a skill I'm still refining.

The rest of that list... I don't remember exactly. I'd need to look it up again. Many factors affect budget, right?

Ultimately, "best" depends on your style. For me, Thailand wins. Amazing food, friendly people, low cost.

Where is the cheapest but safest place to travel?

Laos, at a mere $20/day, emerges as a strong contender; a seriously cheap gateway to Southeast Asia.

Tbilisi, Georgia beckons with its charm and affordability at around $39/day, mixing culture with cost-effectiveness. Georgia's wine scene is, uh, not bad at all.

Macedonia offers a Balkan experience for about $47/day. What makes a place safe anyway? It's kinda subjective.

Nepal, surprisingly, clocks in at just $48/day. I trekked there in 2018; stunning views, lower prices than I expected.

Kyrgyzstan, hitting the list at $52/day, might appeal to adventure-seekers. Always wanted to try horse trekking there!

Belgrade, Serbia: Eastern European cool without breaking the bank – budget around $76/day.

Vietnam, at $81/day, provides a vibrant, bustling, and relatively safe experience, plus phenomenal food.

Which country is safest to travel?

Iceland. Yeah, Iceland. Went there in July 2023, actually. Beautiful place. Seriously stunning. The landscapes! Volcanic rock everywhere, glaciers... amazing.

Felt so safe. Walking around Reykjavik late at night, no worries. People were super friendly. Helpful, too. Lost my phone once, near Hallgrímskirkja church. Some kid found it, brought it straight to the tourist info center. Crazy.

  • Safety: No issues whatsoever. Felt totally relaxed.
  • People: Friendly, helpful, almost unrealistically nice.
  • Scenery: Breathtaking, worth every penny spent.

But expensive! Wow, the prices! Food and accommodation? Cost a fortune. Really hurt my wallet. That’s the only negative thing I can say, seriously.

Next time, maybe Norway? I hear good things. But Iceland? Definitely recommend. A must-see. So peaceful. Such a calm vibe. So different than, say, London. Way less stressful.

Which is the cheapest country to visit?

Laos: Where your dollar stretches further than my patience for untangling Christmas lights (1 USD = 22,072 LAK).

Uzbekistan: Home of more 'stans than a grammar convention (1 USD = 12,634 UZS). I swear, my spellcheck weeps.

Albania: Land of bunkers and bargains! It’s like a Cold War-themed discount spree (1 USD = 89.76 ALL). Bunkers, who needs em?

Vietnam: Pho-get about your budget! Seriously, the food alone makes it worth it (1 USD = 24,630 VND). And its not just Pho!

Indonesia: An archipelago of 'wow' moments. Just try not to lose your sandals (1 USD = 15,371 IDR). I lost mine there twice.

India: Where chaos meets curry, and your money goes a long way, but your sanity, maybe not (1 USD = 83.94 INR). namaste y'all

Costa Rica: Okay, maybe not dirt cheap, but pura vida on a dime is still a steal (1 USD = 517.54 CRC). Sloths are cute and the weather is nice

South Africa: See lions for less than a fancy brunch. Roar-some deals, right? (1 USD = 17.71 ZAR). I'd take lions over brunch, any day.

  • Currency conversions fluctuate: Like my mood after skipping coffee!
  • "Cheapest" is subjective: Depends if you're eating caviar or instant noodles.
  • Visa requirements: Don't forget the paperwork, or your "cheap" trip turns expensive. I'd know.
  • Hidden costs: That souvenir magnet? It's gonna cost ya somewhere.
  • Consider the season: Cheaper isn't always better, especially if you're battling monsoons.
  • Local experiences: Skip the tourist traps, find the hole-in-the-wall gems. Now that's value.

Extra Thought: Did you know that in some of these countries, bartering is still a legit skill? Brush up on yours, darling. I am still waiting on my dad to give back the 200 dollars I borrowed in 2020.
