Why am I getting random contacts on Telegram?

Ugh, it's so annoying, isn't it? Getting all these random contacts popping up on Telegram? I've been there! It's like, who are these people?! It happens because Telegram keeps a copy of your contacts from every device you've ever used it on – your phone, your tablet, maybe even your grandma's computer if you logged in there once. Think of it like... okay, imagine you have a little black book, right? And every time you meet someone new, Telegram scribbles their name in it. Then, even if you lose their number on your phone, it's still in Telegram's little book. That's how it lets you quickly reconnect with people you’ve chatted with before, even if they're not saved in your phone's contacts anymore. I had this happen with a guy I met at a conference ages ago. We chatted briefly on Telegram, and then poof, his number disappeared from my phone. Months later, bam! He's back in my Telegram contacts.
