Why am I getting spam calls in WhatsApp?

Ugh, tell me about it! Spam calls on WhatsApp drive me absolutely nuts. It's like, what gives?! Why does some random person in who-knows-where have my number and think it's okay to just call me up on WhatsApp? It feels so invasive, you know? Like, hello, personal space much?

I remember one time, I was in the middle of something important, and I got a WhatsApp call from some number I didn't recognize. I almost didn't answer, but curiosity got the best of me. Turns out it was some robocall trying to sell me some kind of insurance I didn't need. Seriously?! So annoying. And another time, it was someone speaking a language I didn't even understand! What's even the point of that? Are they just dialing random numbers globally?

I've blocked so many of these spammers, it's ridiculous. It's like playing whack-a-mole – block one, and another one pops up. Thankfully, WhatsApp has that feature where you can silence unknown callers. Lifesaver, honestly. It doesn't stop them completely, but it at least stops my phone from constantly buzzing with unwanted calls. I mean, isn't that what we all want? A little peace and quiet in this crazy digital world? It’s still not ideal, though. You kind of wonder how they even get your number in the first place… is it data breaches? Selling numbers online? Who knows. It's creepy to think about.
