Why is my iPhone not receiving messages from unknown numbers?
Why is my iPhone ignoring texts from people I don't know?! Seriously, Apple, what gives? It's beyond frustrating. I was just about to lose my mind, I swear. My phone's been acting like a snooty bouncer at a VIP club, only letting in texts from people already on my contact list. Like, who does that?!
I mean, I get it, spam is a thing, a HUGE thing. My aunt got completely scammed last year by some text pretending to be from her bank—almost lost her life savings! So, I understand why Apple has this "Filter Unknown Senders" setting. But why on EARTH is it ON by default?! It's like they're actively trying to make us miss important messages.
I went digging around in my settings—Settings > Messages, for anyone else struggling with this—and sure enough, the filter was flipped ON, like some sort of technological gatekeeper. I flipped it OFF. Restarted the phone. You know, the whole shebang. Now, I'm cautiously optimistic. Fingers crossed it actually works! I nearly missed a message from a potential new client earlier— that would have been a disaster!
Seriously though, it's a little ridiculous, isn't it? We should have more control over these things. It should at least give you a warning that it is blocking unknown numbers. I'm still kinda peeved, even though it seems to be working now. Anyone else have this issue? Let me know, because honestly I'm not sure I'm alone in my tech-induced rage!
