How many 5-star airports are there?

Honestly, I was shocked to learn there are only twelve 5-star hub airports globally! It feels surprisingly low, given how much we expect from modern travel. Seven more regional airports achieve the same rating, which is encouraging, but still... twelve? Id have guessed many more would meet that incredibly high standard. It really makes you wonder about the overall state of airport facilities worldwide. Perhaps the criteria are exceptionally rigorous.

Twelve 5-star hub airports? Seriously? That blew my mind! I mean, twelve. Out of all the massive airports all over the planet, only twelve get top marks? It seems kinda crazy, right? We're in the 21st century! I figured there'd be way more, what with all the fancy lounges and high-tech gadgets you see popping up. Seven more smaller airports made the cut, which is cool and all, but still… Just twelve major hubs? It makes you think, doesn't it? Like, what's going on with the rest of them? I remember flying through Dubai once – it felt so futuristic and luxurious, I just assumed it was 5-star. Maybe it is and I'm wrong, who knows? Anyway, it makes you wonder if the bar is set impossibly high for that 5-star rating. Maybe they're judging on things most of us don't even notice!
