Are laptop power banks allowed on planes?

Okay, so you’re wondering about laptop power banks on planes, right? Ugh, it’s always a bit of a gamble figuring out what you can and can’t take. Well, from what I’ve gathered – and I’ve definitely done some frantic pre-trip Googling on this one! – yeah, you can usually bring them. Thank goodness for that, seriously!

But, and there’s always a but, isn’t there? Apparently, there’s this whole thing about watt-hours, like a limit of 100 watt-hours. Honestly, I’m not an electrician or anything, so I don’t even pretend to fully understand what that means. I just know that it’s a thing I need to check before I head to the airport.

I remember once, flying back from visiting my sister, and my phone died halfway through the flight. Ugh, the horror! I was relying on it for music, you know? It was so boring! So, the thought of my laptop dying on a long flight…a total nightmare scenario! I’d be completely unproductive, and probably drive myself crazy just staring at the back of the seat in front of me.

So, fingers crossed my power bank is under that 100 watt-hour limit. I really, really hope so. Because if it’s not? Let’s just say I’m not gonna be a happy traveler. And nobody wants to be that person on the plane, you know?
