UK speed signs: Are they in miles per hour or kilometers per hour?
Okay, so UK speed limits. Miles per hour, right? Always bugged me, honestly. I drove around Scotland last July, remember seeing those signs, definitely mph.
It's weird, isn't it? Every other place I've been in Europe – France, Italy, Germany – kilometers. The UK, sticking to its miles. Feels a bit… stubborn?
Driving in the UK, the speed limit signs are in mph. This is a fact. Unlike the rest of Europe, they haven't switched.
I paid £70 for a speeding ticket once in Devon, and it was definitely mph on the sign. A painful memory. Expensive lesson learned.
So yeah, miles per hour. Case closed. It's just… different.
