Are the trains good in Vietnam?
While Vietnam's trains offer a unique, scenic travel experience, they're generally not the best option for efficiency. Trains are slower and can be less comfortable than buses or flights. However, for relaxed journeys with great views, they can be worthwhile.
Are Vietnams trains reliable and comfortable?
Okay, so, Vietnam trains, huh? Reliable AND comfy? Mmm, lemme tell you about my experience…
Frankly? I wouldn’t bank on it. They are cheaper now.
Here’s the deal. I took the train from, like, Da Nang to Nha Trang back in December of ’19. I think it was around $35? View? Stunning. The whole experience? Less so.
My seat was…well, worn. Real worn. And the a/c, or lack of, meant I arrived sweaty as hell. Plus it took forever! Flights way more efficient.
There’s that Reddit thread on r/Vietnam. Folks there kinda feel the same way I do. Not really worth it, time and comfort-wise.
Listen, beautiful scenery, yes. Reliable and comfy? Ehhh… unless things have dramatically changed, I’d stick to buses or planes.
Maybe trains are just outdated in VN today.
