Can I still have a UK bank account if I live abroad?

Can I still have a UK bank account if I live abroad? Ugh, it's such a headache! The official answer is pretty much a big fat "no" unless you're, like, married to the Queen or something. Seriously?! It's as if they're slamming the door on anyone who dares to live elsewhere. I mean, come on. There are perfectly good reasons to want to keep a UK bank account even if you're not physically there. Think about it – maybe you have family back home you regularly send money to, or perhaps you're renting out a property. Or, like me, what if you just find it easier to manage certain payments from a UK account? I had this whole thing with a subscription service – way less hassle to pay it from my UK bank. To say it’s only for government employees and their families… it just feels so…exclusive. What about the rest of us? What about those of us with deep roots and ongoing financial connections to the UK? It just doesn't seem right, you know? It feels like they're forgetting about all the normal people who might actually need a UK bank account. It’s not just a perk for the privileged few!
