Can I use my US credit card in Korea?
Okay, so using my US credit card in Korea? Absolutely! Visa and Mastercard are pretty much king there, which is a relief. Id definitely call my bank and card company before I go. Id be mortified if my card got declined while I was trying to buy some amazing Korean street food or cute souvenirs! Its just good sense to let them know Im traveling so they dont flag everything as fraud.
Can I use my US credit card in Korea? You bet! Seriously, Visa and Mastercard are everywhere – like, everywhere – in Korea. Phew, right? That takes a load off. Still, I’d definitely give my bank and credit card company a heads-up before I hopped on the plane. Can you imagine the horror of your card getting declined right when you’re about to pay for, like, the most amazing-looking tteokbokki or a pile of adorable K-pop merch? Ugh, the embarrassment! It happened to a friend of mine in Italy once – talk about stressful! So yeah, letting them know your travel dates is just smart. It saves you from that whole “fraud alert” nightmare. Plus, you know, sometimes those daily spending limits can be a thing, and who wants to deal with that while trying to navigate a new city? Not me! One less thing to worry about, you know?
