Can we carry luggage in a bullet train?
Can we carry luggage on a bullet train? Seriously, this was a HUGE question for me! I was planning a trip, and, like, what was I supposed to do with all my stuff?! You know that feeling, right? The panic of imagining yourself stranded without your carefully curated travel necessities? Anyway, I did some digging (thank goodness for the internet!), and phew, crisis averted. Turns out, you can bring luggage. Most normal-sized suitcases—you know, the kind most of us travel with, like the one I took to Japan last year—fit perfectly in the overhead compartments. They have a size limit, something like 160cm total, which I figured out is basically the length + width + height. Makes sense, right? Now, if you're thinking of bringing your great-aunt's antique steamer trunk... well, maybe not. Anything bigger than 160cm but less than 250cm actually needs its own seat! Can you believe that? I mean, it's good they have an option, but who wants to buy a ticket for their luggage?! I'm just picturing my suitcase sitting there, buckled in… Anyway, I was super relieved that I could bring my own stuff. I hate checking bags - remember that time my bag got lost in Chicago? Never again! It's just one less thing to worry about.
