Can you text while on airplane mode and Wi-Fi?

Ugh, airplane mode, am I right?! It’s like my brain just goes blank. I always forget I can still message people if the plane has Wi-Fi. Like, duh, of course iMessage works if the Wi-Fi’s actually working (which, let’s be real, is like, maybe half the time? If you’re lucky!). But regular texting? Nope. Totally dead in the water. Your phone’s basically a fancy brick without cell service. Remember that time I was flying back from visiting my sister in Chicago, and I swore I’d texted my husband to pick me up? Total fail. He wasn’t there. I was stranded! So yeah, those messages are just…hanging out there… somewhere in the digital ether, waiting to be sent. So frustrating! But hey, at least there are ways around it, like those messaging apps. It’s not perfect, but what is, you know?
