Do currency exchange places take debit cards? Ugh, right? That's always the first question, isn't it? The whole currency exchange thing is such a nightmare! I remember this one time in Italy... I was so excited, finally in Rome, and then I went to exchange money, and I only had my credit card. Turns out, they took debit cards – mine was Canadian, and that worked fine – but credit cards are a whole other beast. They treat them like cash advances, which is insane! I ended up paying a fortune in extra fees. Seriously, a fortune! Like, I could have bought another gelato with that money... maybe two. So yeah, debit cards are definitely the way to go, unless you’re really keen on paying extra for the privilege of using your credit card. Learn from my mistakes, people!
