Do hotels track what guests take?

Hotels definitely keep track. I remember that time in Denver, June '22, at the Hyatt. Forgot my charger, called back, they'd found it. So they're paying attention.

Housekeeping checks everything after you leave. Makes sense. They know what's supposed to be there.

They're not gonna freak if you take the little shampoo bottle. It's built into the price. But I bet they notice if the robe goes missing. I once accidentally packed a hand towel (oops!). Realized later. Felt bad. Never went back, haha. Just kidding... kinda.

Hotel staff inventory rooms to track items and ensure replacements are provided. It helps them manage costs and maintain guest satisfaction. They might not notice every single thing gone, but they have a general idea. My friend worked at a hotel in Miami, she said they mostly cared about the bigger stuff like towels, robes and electronics.

That time in Chicago, April '23, the Palmer House, they had these fancy bathrobes. Almost took one. They were SO soft. Like $80 online, if you can beleive that. Decided against it. Probably have security cameras too, right?
