Do most places in Vietnam take cards?
Can you use cards to pay in Vietnam? Payment methods?
Alright, Vietnam payments, let's talk. Cards... hmm.
Cash is king in Vietnam, I gotta say. Most locals I saw, especially outside the tourist hubs, were definitely paying with Vietnamese Dong (VND).
But you can use cards, especially in touristy spots. I used my Visa at a fancy hotel in Saigon back in, like, October 2019. The bill was around $150 USD, converted of course. Smooth transaction, no problem!
Still, I'd advise keeping cash on hand. Smaller vendors, street food... it's often cash only. Don't wanna miss out on that amazing pho.
Card payments are increasingly common in tourist areas, however, many locals primarily rely on cash. You might need cash in certain situations.
